AQMA Club Races 6 & 7

The last few dirt races were not good to us as we had some pretty major car problems. We were looking forward to racing at the American track with a new motor from A Main Motors and a new car, a 2001 GT.

On Saturday, Jonathan started in 2nd position of a field of 8 cars for the heat race. He quickly made a pass and lead the first few laps. Another driver, Colby came made a pass for first but then the passing war began with Jonathan and Colby passing back and forth for first position. When coming into turn two, Jonathan was holding his position and Colby was trying to pass and they got tangled and became DOT. Both got the call of a "charge yellow" and were sent to the back. Jonathan passed his way back up to 4th position when he crossed the finish line. Even though Jonathan didn't take home a checkered flag, it was a great race and Jonathan drove fantastic!

The Main Event was up next and Jonathan started in 2nd position again in a field of 8cars. Jonathan made a pass again and took the lead. Jonathan lead the rest of the race of 30 laps and took home the checkered flag!

On Sunday, after a better qualifying run, Jonathan started in 2nd position again in a field of 6 cars. The other 4 cars were great drivers so we knew this would be a good race. Jonathan quickly made a pass for first and lead the race of 15 laps for the win!

In the main event, Jonathan started 5th out of 6 cars due to invertion of the prior race finish. Since the race before took too long to complete, the green flag was thrown rather quickly in this race which startled most of the drivers. Jonathan wasn't able to get a good start but made a pass to 4th position. The race was pretty uneventful but Jonathan held his lines wonderfully and kept the last 2 drivers off. Jonathan got a 4th place finish.

We couldn't be more proud of Jonathan and his driving skills this weekend. This was the last race as a novice competitor for Jonathan and he will be moved up to Jr. Honda..AKA the Shark Pit! Way to go Knacke Attack!
