This was Jonathan's first regional race for 2011 and also his first time at the Tri Valley QMA track in Livermore. Jonathan did phenominal! Jim was unable to be there due to a conflict with wo so me and Jonathan were lucky enough to have the Almog family help us out. Since the track is bigger than the others, with longer straight ways, the gears are a bit trickier than what we're used too.
Jonathan started the first heat in 6th position and passed his way up to a photo finish for 2nd place. He drove amazing! Video attached below. The 2nd heat Jonathan started 3rd but ended 4th. The cars got too spread out and Jonathan couldn't catch up to a higher position but he still made it straight to the A Main without having to race in the lower mains. A huge accomplishment especially with this being his first year in Jr Honda. The Main event was held the next day and Jonathan started 5th. He ended 7th. Again the cars got to spread out and his car was tight so he was unable to catch up.
Overall, Jonathan did fantastic and we had an awesome experience! Jonathan likes the track at Tri Valley the best so far he says.
