On 3/27/10, Jonathan raced his 2nd race of the season (4th race total), at American Quarter Midget track in Prarie City (Folsom, Ca). This was Jonathan's first time on an asphalt track and he performed better than he ever had.
Jonathan obtained the 2nd fastest lap time for Jr. Novices so he started 2nd to last in the first heat. He passed all cars and drove his way to a first place finish! Jonathan made clean, aggressive passes, drove a specatular pattern, and even lapped the last car! Mom and Dad were so excited for this accomplishment!
In the main event, Jonathan started last due to his previous first place finish. Once again, Jonathan drove his heart out and landed a 2nd place finish! Again, we were so proud of him. Because we made such a big deal of his previous win, Jonathan was disappointed when he came in 2nd. It was time for "the talk" about the importance of having fun, driving good, and how it's not about coming in first.
